Henderson’s Water Street Named One Of “13 Great Places”

An honor has been bestowed on the Historic Water Street District in Henderson

The American Planning Association has named Water Street one of three Great Streets on APA’s annual Great Places in America list, which starts the countdown to National Community Planning Month in October. 

“We are thrilled to receive this national planning designation, especially amidst the energy currently taking place on Water Street with the addition of the Vegas Golden Knights Practice Facility and multiple mixed-use developments like the South End on Water office and retail building, as well as the numerous food, beverage and entertainment options taking hold,” said Henderson Mayor Debra March. “It is not by mistake that the momentum and excitement around Water Street is bubbling over onto the national scale. Henderson is a thriving community today because of the visioning, sound planning practices and strategic investments that set the stage for our future. I couldn’t be happier to receive this honor, nor more proud of the City efforts that led us here such as the Southern Nevada Strong Regional Plan, Henderson Strong Comprehensive Plan and Economic Development Strategy, Downtown Masterplan and Downtown Investment Strategy, among other leveraged resources that laid the groundwork for our success.”
